The US edition, retitled The Language of the Sea

The book has already won some gratifying early reviews in America .Brunonia Barry, author of the New York Times bestseller The Lace Reader said of it:' Wonderfully mythical.....a story of guilt and alienation and the power of the sea to transform and heal'. I met Brunonia at the Boston Book Fair in October and found her to be charming, modest and unphased by an unknown Brit author thrusting his debut novel into her hands with pleading eyes .She was kind enough to read it and while on a book promotion tour in Italy the following month sent me an email, saying how much she had liked the book.
